Lake being taken over by weeds?
Mechanical removal with our Weedoo Workboat ensures that you can get back to enjoying your slice of nature with the assurance that it is leading to a healthier habitat for your fishy friends without introducing chemicals which can cause a whole other set of problems.
Chemicals Kill. Period. That's what they're designed to do, to kill weeds. But what happens after the weeds are killed?
They decompose at the bottom of the lake turning into sediment creating shallower water depth and releasing the perfect nutrients for next years crops of aquatic weeds actually exacerbating the problem.
These nutrients can also fuel harmful algal blooms which can have adverse impacts on water quality, fish habitat, and breeding in freshwater lakes and rivers.
When too many plants die and decompose to the bottom of the lake at the same time it lowers the oxygen levels of the water, leading to the potential for isolated fish kills by depriving fish of oxygen and killing them.
Mechanically removing weeds prevents sediment buildup, promotes a healthier oxygen rich habitat for aquatic life and deeper water depth.
